ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Support the leadership and direction of the CAD team, including assisting with supervision and personnel-related matters.
Help assign workload to CAD staff and contribute to maintaining project schedules and budgets.
Track project timelines and support overall schedule performance.
Assist in the preparation and review of Cost Schedule Impact Logs (CSILs) and Requests for Engineering Actions (REAs) as needed.
Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to CAD team members.
Contribute to the development and upkeep of departmental processes and procedures.
Help ensure team members receive proper training and ongoing development.
Step in to perform CAD design and drafting duties when required.
Participate in candidate interviews and provide input on hiring decisions.
Support the CAD Manager with additional team or departmental responsibilities as needed.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This role includes oversight and supervisory responsibility for CAD personnel.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information in accordance with applicable standards.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with team members at all levels.
Ability to communicate professionally with internal teams and external contacts when necessary.
Ability to follow established processes, policies, and workplace procedures.
Solid understanding of basic machining processes.
General mechanical aptitude; electrical knowledge is a plus.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of technical training or comparable hands-on experience.
At least 6 years of CAD design experience, including 3D modeling.
Experience with presentations, leading meetings, conflict resolution, planning/organizing, and developing team members.
Previous Department of Defense (DoD) experience is preferred.
