Role Description This is a full-time, hybrid Computer Aided Design Engineer role based in Chennai, with flexibility for some work-from-home arrangements. The CAD Engineer will be responsible for creating and refining 3D models and detailed drawings for mechanical and electronic components, ensuring designs meet functional, manufacturability, and safety requirements. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with cross-functional teams on product concepts, running simulations and design validations, updating models based on feedback, and preparing documentation for manufacturing. The role also involves working closely with production and engineering teams to support prototype builds and resolve design issues, while maintaining design standards and version control. The engineer will contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and tools to enhance efficiency and product quality.
Qualifications

Strong skills in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools and workflows, with experience creating detailed 3D models and engineering drawings.
Knowledge of Physical Design principles and Mechanical Engineering fundamentals for component and product-level design.
Familiarity with Electronic Design Automation (EDA) environments and related workflows, including experience with Cadence or similar platforms.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
Ability to interpret specifications, sketches, and prototypes, and translate them into manufacturable designs.
Experience with simulation, tolerance analysis, and design validation tools is beneficial.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams.
Good communication skills and comfort working in a hybrid setup, coordinating both on-site and remote work.
Prior experience in OEM, product development, or manufacturing environments is an advantage.
