Role Summary
The CAD Application Engineer is a core member of the Technical Demo Development organization, responsible for designing, developing, and delivering compelling Creo demonstrations and assets that showcase the value of PTC’s product portfolio. This multidisciplinary role blends deep CAD expertise, product storytelling, cross-functional collaboration, and video production.
The CAD Application Engineer creates high‑impact demonstration kits and polished technical videos that equip global sales, marketing, and customer success with scalable, value‑driven assets. These demonstrations support outcomes ranging from flagship, event‑level showcases to modular kits that highlight specific capabilities, aligned with the organization’s mission to deliver engaging, value-centric CAD experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Architect & Deliver Demonstration Kits
Lead the end-to-end‑ development of CAD (Creo) demo kits, ranging from simple capability spotlights to fully integrated Intelligent Product Lifecycle (digital thread) scenarios spanning multiple PTC products (e.g., CAD, PLM, ALM, SLM)
Gather and reconcile requirements from cross‑functional stakeholders including Product Management, Segment Leadership, Sales, Marketing, and Solution Consulting.
Build deliverables such as:
Demo scripts, scenario narratives, and value messaging
Software “picks and clicks” workflows
Training videos with audio walkthroughs emphasizing features, benefits, and value propositions
Supporting documentation for global scalability and field enablement
Collaborate with global subject-matter experts to ensure technical and business alignment across all assets.
Develop Technical Videos
Serve as the on‑camera and/or narrative expert who clearly articulates CAD capabilities in the context of business value, industry relevance, and a compelling story arc.
Script, record, and produce video content that effectively demonstrates core product functionality, advanced use cases, and end‑to‑end digital thread workflows.
Videos cover the full sales cycle, from social media content to validation support
Collaborate with the Technical Demo Visualization (demo video production) team for editing, voiceover, and production enhancements.
Develop & Support Industry Event Demonstrations
Partner with stakeholders to design and develop PLM demonstrations within comprehensive Intelligent Product Lifecycle (digital thread) scenarios for global industry events.
Assist in the preparation and delivery of Intelligent Product Lifecycle demonstrations, presenting to customers at industry conferences and exhibitions.
Develop enablement materials and provide training to technical personnel on demonstration content for industry event presentations.
Compose scripts for demonstration videos and enablement materials.
Facilitate the scaling of demonstration content created for industry events for use by field resources such as Solution Consultants.
