Job Summary
The CVE-P in this critical role, will ensure GKN products meet stringent regulatory (EASA, FAA),
safety, and customer requirements, contributing to the certification and production of world-class
aircraft engine parts. The focus will be on the static load-carrying structures that form the
backbone of our customers’ engines in production and service.
The CVE-P is expected to chair or review compliance assessments for next-generation
demonstrators and ensure GKN designs meet all regulatory and safety standards from early
concept through full-scale development and certification.
Job Responsibilities
Act as the independent design compliance authority, responsible for classifying engineering data as acceptable or unacceptable and ensuring product certification compliance.
Review DQA outputs, product requirements, design verification evidence, and engineering changes through Configuration Control Boards (CCB).
Prepare, approve, and maintain certification and compliance documentation in line with FAA, EASA Part 21, AS9100, OEM, and organizational requirements.
Define design requirements, standards, compliance frameworks, and verification strategies for assigned products.
Lead and participate in key design and airworthiness reviews including Concept Reviews, PDR, CDR, DDR, TRR, FWR, PLR, PQR, and PSR.
Serve as the technical authority for design decisions, compliance assessments, design risk management, and change impact evaluations.
Establish and approve engineering data packages, technical analyses, verification plans, safety assessments, and compliance reports.
Ensure structural integrity, product safety, and verification evidence support product certification and regulatory approvals.
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, certification, and program teams to ensure successful product delivery and compliance.
Support audits, certification reviews, customer interactions, and regulatory engagements.
Drive continuous improvement and Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) activities using 8D, DMAIC, A3, and FMEA methodologies.
Identify systemic issues, implement preventive actions, and contribute to organizational KPI and Brilliant Basics initiatives.
Key Competencies
Strong knowledge of aerospace design, verification, validation, certification, and product lifecycle management.
Expertise in regulatory compliance, engineering standards, and OEM requirements.
Proficiency in CAD/CAE, engineering analysis tools, manufacturing processes, and technical documentation.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Job Qualifications
Must possess a high level of engineering functional knowledge (typically Technical Excellence
Framework level 4 or higher in an appropriate Area of Expertise) and experience across
multiple disciplines to successfully manage/guide the project/programme technical team.
Must possess the highest level of technical project leadership as the role is accountable for
the competing parameters of technical quality (Safety/Airworthiness) as well as project
schedule.
Must possess the highest level of problem-solving skills in both technical and programme
management disciplines to successfully manage the technical direction of the project and
support the overall business objectives of the programme.
The role requires the highest level of interpersonal skills – see below for details of skills and
personal attributes required.
Essential
Bachelor’s or master’s Degree in (Mechanical/ Aerospace) Engineering or equivalent working
and thinking Level gained through experience.
At least 15+ years of relevant experience gained within an engineering discipline, ideally
within an aerospace environment and in multi-disciplinary engineering project teams (Design,
Aerodynamics, Aerothermal, Solid mechanics, all type of Analysis, Manufacturing &
Industrialization).
At least 10+ years product development experience. Knowledge of Airworthiness
requirements from a DOA perspective.
Knowledge of classification of product and characteristics.
Knowledge of aviation regulations (e.g. EASA, FAA, AS9100) and airworthiness standard
This role shall be attached to the authorization application and responsible to Head of Design
for the classification of compiled data
Extensive experience with Negotiation with external stakeholder regarding rebalancing
requirements. Also handling of the proposed requirements change
Solid approach/understanding to the delivery and tracking of engineering tasks.
Identification of relevant risks assessed and mitigates as planned and documented in DFMEA
Able to work with cross-functional Teams that will typically include (in addition to the Design
Engineering Team) Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Commercial. Procurement,
Quality and Suppliers.
Has excellent judgement in considering when escalation is appropriate.
Ability to clearly present data, reports and presentations to facilitate the decision-making
process at all levels of the business.
Should have prior experience of being part of design gate review in the role of technical
reviewer
Should have prior experience of being part of team working on concepts for new product
development
Strong minded, convincing and committed, focussed on delivery, must be able to work under
pressure and to tight deadlines.
Should have prior experience have having handled AOG’s and product non-conformances and
escapes.
Desirable
Having worked in multi-cultural, multi-disciplinary teams in an international setting.
System level knowledge
Experience with developing and coaching people.
Ability to mentor and coach Engineers in the Delivery of their specific Task and supporting
their professional Growth.
