We’re partnering with a global manufacturing organization undergoing dynamic growth and investment across multiple production sites.
We are looking for an experienced CAD Engineer – Complete Seats to join the growing engineering team in Auburn Hills, Michigan.

About the role
This position focuses on complete seat serial development for automotive programs, supporting the integration of all seat functions and components from concept through production release. You will work within a project-oriented engineering environment and play a key role in ensuring production-ready seat designs that meet customer and regulatory requirements.

Location: Auburn Hills, Michigan (hybrid work model with occasional remote work flexibility)

Reports to: The Head of Engineering

What You’ll Do
Perform package investigations of component parts and technical assemblies.
Develop complete seat designs from concept phase through series production.
Create production-oriented and manufacturing-feasible CAD designs using CATIA V5.
Develop 2D and 3D kinematics, surface curves, and assembly studies.
Support design validation, tooling industrialization, and production launch activities.
Prepare engineering documentation required for approvals and releases.
Define component interfaces and reference point systems.
Coordinate suppliers and support cross-functional engineering activities.
Participate in customer meetings and represent the engineering team on technical topics.
Support evaluation of first production samples and ongoing production activities.
Ensure engineering deliverables and project milestones are achieved on schedule.


What We’re Looking For
Experience with automotive seating components including molded foams, plastic parts, mechanisms, and electronic seat systems.
Strong hands-on experience with CATIA V5 – V6.
Experience with PDM systems desirable.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics, or similar.
Good knowledge of seat kinematics and package investigations.
Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
Ability to work independently in a project-driven environment.
Willingness to travel occasionally.
