Engineer I (Entry-Level)

Overview

We are seeking an entry-level Engineer I to support the design and construction of power-related systems. This role will apply foundational engineering principles, design standards, and software tools to contribute to project development, estimation, and execution.

The ideal candidate is motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to grow their technical expertise while collaborating with internal teams and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

Apply engineering processes, design criteria, and approved software tools to develop system designs
Support the preparation of project estimates, design alternatives, and construction specifications
Assist in developing construction packages, including drawings and supporting documentation
Coordinate with internal teams involved in planning, design, construction, operations, and maintenance
Provide oversight and quality assurance reviews for contractor-developed designs, estimates, and deliverables
Ensure adherence to established engineering standards, design practices, and work processes
Support the development and continuous improvement of system design standards and criteria
Assist with material take-offs and project cost estimation
Transmit construction packages and support specifications to appropriate stakeholders
Provide day-to-day support to construction and maintenance teams

Safety & Compliance

Promote and maintain a safety-first work environment
Follow all safety guidelines, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards and internal engineering practices

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (from an accredited institution)
0–5 years of related engineering experience
Minimum 2 years of CAD experience
Experience walking down, marking up, and updating mechanical drawings (including P&IDs)

Preferred Skills & Competencies

Foundational knowledge of engineering principles and design processes
Basic proficiency with discipline-specific engineering software tools
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to make decisions within established procedures, with guidance from supervisor
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to build collaborative relationships with engineers, plant personnel, and vendors
Positive attitude and strong work ethic
