Key Responsibilities


Battery Testing & Validation (80%)

Perform manual validation and testing of battery cells, modules, packs, and Battery Management Systems (BMS).

Design, review, and execute test plans, test cases, and test procedures for:

Performance testing

Safety testing

Reliability and lifecycle testing

Environmental and stress testing

Analyze battery behavior under various operating conditions (charge/discharge cycles, thermal conditions, aging, etc.).

Validate test results against specifications, standards, and requirements.

Identify defects, anomalies, and failure modes; perform root cause analysis.

Collaborate with design, firmware, and systems teams to debug issues and improve battery quality.

Maintain detailed test reports, validation summaries, and defect tracking documentation.

Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards (e.g., automotive, energy storage, safety norms).


Automation, Python & AI Focus (20%)

Develop Python-based automation scripts to:

Automate test execution and data collection

Process large volumes of battery test data

Reduce repetitive manual testing tasks

Create internal tools and utilities to improve testing productivity and accuracy.

Apply AI / ML techniques for:

Test data analysis and trend detection

Anomaly detection in battery parameters

Predictive insights for battery performance or degradation

Integrate automation tools with existing test benches, hardware interfaces, or data pipelines.

Continuously improve test frameworks using data-driven and AI-assisted approaches.


Mandatory Skills

Core Skills

Strong experience in Battery Testing and Validation (Manual QA)

Solid understanding of:

Battery fundamentals (Li-ion / EV / Energy Storage preferred)

Charge–discharge cycles, SoC, SoH, thermal behavior, aging

Hands-on experience with test equipment and validation setups

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Automation & AI Skills

Proficiency in Python for automation and data analysis

Experience building custom test tools or frameworks

Familiarity with AI / ML concepts (e.g., regression, anomaly detection, pattern recognition)

Experience using libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, or basic ML libraries

Ability to translate testing challenges into automation or AI-driven solutions


Good-to-Have Skills

Experience with Battery Management Systems (BMS)

Exposure to hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) or lab-based testing

Knowledge of automotive or energy storage standards

Familiarity with version control (Git) and test reporting tools

Experience working in cross-functional engineering teams


Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Automotive, or related engineering disciplines


Pay and Benefits

Pay Range Minimum: $115000/Year

Pay Range Maximum: $176000/Year

Compensation and Benefits

A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their work location, skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies. In addition, this role is eligible for the following benefits subject to company policies: medical, dental, vision, pharmacy, life, accidental death & dismemberment, and disability insurance; employee assistance program; 401(k) retirement plan; 10 days of paid time off per year (some positions are eligible for need-based leave with no designated number of leave days per year); and 10 paid holidays per year.
