Accountabilities

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and supporting batch applications within complex UNIX/Linux and database-driven environments. You will contribute to the full software development lifecycle while ensuring system stability and performance across healthcare platforms. Key responsibilities include:

Developing, coding, testing, debugging, and documenting batch programs using C, UNIX/Linux, and SQL/PL-SQL
Supporting batch job automation, scheduling, and notification services across enterprise systems
Analyzing system requirements and preparing technical specifications for low to moderate complexity programs
Investigating and resolving complex integration, production, and performance issues
Developing and executing test plans to validate program logic and system functionality
Participating in code reviews and ensuring adherence to quality assurance standards
Assisting in modifying and enhancing existing healthcare IT systems, including MMIS platforms
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable system delivery and support

Requirements

This position requires strong experience in batch development and enterprise system programming within UNIX/Linux environments, along with a solid foundation in SQL-based databases. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently on complex technical challenges. Key qualifications include:

6+ years of experience in application development and batch programming
Strong expertise in C programming, UNIX/Linux systems, and Oracle SQL/PL-SQL
Hands-on experience with batch job automation and scheduling systems
Experience in healthcare IT systems, preferably Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS)
Ability to analyze system behavior, troubleshoot issues, and develop effective solutions
Strong documentation skills for technical specifications, code, and system processes
Experience conducting testing, debugging, and peer code reviews
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under minimal supervision
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical teams
