Picture your morning at Airco Mechanical in Round Rock or San Antonio: coffee in hand, contract set open, scoping a new building automation package that will keep a campus running smoothly through Texas heat. You translate specs into clear plans, balance performance with budget, and make sure every component plays well together. By afternoon, your Visio riser is buttoned up, the network architecture is clean, and your submittal tells the story of a system that just works.
What you'll do
Engineer complete Building Automation Systems (BAS) designs that align with contract scope, schedule, and budget while ensuring equipment compatibility.
Produce professional submittals using AutoCAD/Visio, providing the drafting direction needed to deliver accurate engineered documents.
Assemble comprehensive BAS submittal packages: detailed riser diagrams, network topology, and physical point-to-point wiring schematics for HVAC and electrical systems.
Interpret plans, specs, estimates, and addenda to select the right control hardware and devices that best achieve project requirements.
Develop Sequences of Operations (SOO) and verify that written sequences meet system needs.
Create a complete Bill of Material for every design.
Perform system design for BAS, including load calculations, equipment selection, and integration across multiple control platforms.
Support the Sales team during estimating/bid phases with design insights and options.
Partner with Project Managers to generate RFIs, resolve design ambiguities, and recommend solutions.
Assist with tracking timelines, budgets, and coordination to keep deliverables on course.
