The ideal candidate will have experience with AV system design, technical documentation, and project support while working closely with senior engineers, project managers, and installation teams to ensure successful project execution. Responsibilities:
Site Surveys & Requirements Gathering
• Participate in site visits to assess client needs and gather project requirements
• Assist in developing equipment lists, scopes of work, and technical documentation
• Support senior engineers with project planning and system design requirements
System Design & CAD Documentation
• Utilize AutoCAD and related design tools to create AV system layouts and documentation
• Assist in designing audio systems, video conferencing solutions, IPTV systems, digital signage, video walls, security systems, and network infrastructure
• Create and update floor plans, ceiling plans, elevations, rack layouts, and system schematics
• Develop signal flow diagrams, device mounting details, and connection drawings
• Support documentation of electrical, structural, and network integration requirements
Project Coordination & Support
• Coordinate with project managers, installation teams, and engineering staff throughout project execution
• Assist in ensuring AV systems integrate properly with IT, electrical, architectural, and life-safety systems
• Participate in project meetings and support project documentation updates
• Assist with equipment research and technical product evaluations
Installation, Testing & Commissioning Support
• Participate in pre-installation walkthroughs and site inspections
• Support installation teams during project execution
• Assist with system testing, commissioning, and quality control procedures
• Help identify and resolve technical issues during project deployment
Client Support & Documentation
• Assist with client training and project handoffs
• Support the creation of closeout documentation and as-built packages
• Assist with post-installation support and project documentation updates
• Support RFP responses, vendor coordination, and proposal development activities
Skills We Are Looking For:
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in audiovisual system design, integration, or technical support
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word
• Understanding of enterprise AV systems, video conferencing technologies, control systems, and network infrastructure
• Familiarity with AV technologies including Crestron, Q-SYS, Extron, Biamp, Cisco, Poly, and related platforms
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with engineers, project managers, clients, and field teams
• Willingness to learn advanced AV system design and engineering practices
• Ability and willingness to travel within NYC and surrounding areas as needed
Certifications We Want to See:
• AVIXA CTS, CTS-I, CTS-D certifications are a plus
• Crestron (Control Systems / DM)
• QSC / Biamp / Poly / Cisco Audio Certifications
• Microsoft / Crestron / Cisco Video Certifications
• Advanced networking or IT certifications (Network+, CCNA, etc.)
Requirements:
• Working from office place located in Hicksville NY
• Hours are 9:00 am to 5:30 pm Monday-Friday
• Willingness to travel within NYC and surrounding areas
