Autonomy Software Engineer
Salary: $175,000–$200,000 + Benefits
Location: San Francisco Bay Area
We’re partnering with an innovative advanced mobility and autonomous systems company developing next-generation autonomous vehicle technology for real-world applications. Backed by leading investors and a highly technical leadership team, the company is scaling rapidly and is now looking for an Autonomy Software Engineer to play a key role in the development of cutting-edge autonomous systems.
Responsibilities
Develop autonomous navigation and docking capabilities for real-world environments
Design and implement perception, localization, planning, and controls systems
Integrate, test, and evaluate sensor systems across varying operational conditions
Collaborate cross-functionally with software and hardware engineering teams
Support the growth and mentorship of the autonomy engineering function
Requirements
Degree in Software Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field
Commercial experience developing autonomy systems in real-world applications
Strong understanding of autonomy stacks, including perception, localization, planning, and controls
Experience with optimal control methods such as iLQR or MPPI
Strong programming skills in C++ and Python
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on engineering environment
Desirable Experience
Experience with ROS2
Background in robotics, aerospace, marine, or autonomous vehicle systems
Understanding of vehicle dynamics and/or fluid dynamics
Package
$175,000–$200,000 base salary
