2. About the Opportunity:
The Automated Test Engineer role is essential to ensuring the quality, accuracy, and performance of geospatial software products. This position involves designing and executing comprehensive testing strategies, both automated and manual, to identify defects and improve product reliability. The role contributes significantly to product excellence by collaborating with development teams and advancing testing practices.
3. Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement test strategies, plans, and cases for geospatial applications and Java microservices
• Design and maintain automated test scripts for efficient regression testing
• Perform manual testing to validate complex geospatial features against requirements
• Conduct regression testing to identify and ensure resolution of software defects
• Evaluate performance of applications and microservices to find and address bottlenecks
• Document test plans, cases, and reports accurately
• Collaborate closely with developers to understand requirements and provide feedback
• Report and track defects using issue tracking systems and work towards timely fixes
• Recommend improvements and stay current with testing methodologies and technologies
4. Requirements:
• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance
• Minimum two years of relevant experience in similar programs and contracts
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or four additional years of test engineering experience in lieu of degree
• Required certification: Associate Systems Engineering Professional (ASEP), DAWIA SPRDE Level 1, DAWIA Test and Evaluation Level 1, or equivalent
• Experience in software testing focused on geospatial applications, Java microservices, and RESTful APIs
• Knowledge of geospatial techniques, analysis, and visualization
• Proficiency in test automation tools such as Selenium or JUnit
• Familiarity with RESTful API and microservices testing
• Experience with performance testing tools like JMeter or Gatling
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently and lead testing efforts
5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
• The estimated salary range is $120,000 to $170,000 annually, depending on individual qualifications and organizational factors.
