Job Objective
As an Assistant Design Engineer in the New Product Development (NPD) team at SciTech Centre, the primary objective is to contribute to early-stage mechanical concept development and prototype validation for future pharmaceutical packaging systems, ensuring feasibility, reliability, and manufacturability through disciplined engineering analysis and hands-on execution.
Primary responsibilities
Study existing machine designs, past trial data, and competitive solutions to identify improvement opportunities.
Develop concepts ,3D models and prototype layouts using approved CAD platforms and modern design tools.
Utilize available digital tools (simulation, motion analysis, AI-assisted design tools) to validate design feasibility.
Apply basic tolerance analysis, engineering calculations, and material selection judgment to ensure manufacturable and reliable designs.
Prepare and release accurate prototype drawings and BOM under defined engineering controls.
Support fabrication and assembly of prototypes, ensuring alignment between digital design and physical build.
Participate in prototype trials and performance validation; collect and analyze data for improvement.
Assist in identifying root causes of mechanical issues and suggest material or design adjustments.
Document trial results, simulation findings, and design revisions in a structured and traceable format.
Act as technical contributor for assigned modules and collaborate with automation, controls, and digital teams during development activities.
