Assistant Design Engineer

As we continue to expand our engineering capabilities in India, we are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Design Engineer to join our growing Design Department.
This is an excellent opportunity for professionals who are passionate about engineering drawings, industrial equipment design, and manufacturing excellence. Employment Type
Full-time (6-month probation period followed by permanent employment based on performance and management review)
Qualification
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or ITI Mechanical Draftsman with relevant industrial experience
Experience
4–8 years of hands-on experience in mechanical drafting for industrial machinery, rotating equipment, heavy fabrication, engineered products, or related industries.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed fabrication drawings, GA drawings, assembly drawings, manufacturing drawings, and part lists for industrial fans and associated systems.
Convert engineering concepts, calculations, and design inputs into accurate and manufacturable technical drawings.
Develop BOMs, material specifications, welding details, machining notes, and engineering documentation.
Create layouts, sheet-metal developments, ducting drawings, and structural support drawings.
Ensure compliance with project specifications, company drafting standards, and quality requirements.
Revise and update drawings based on engineering changes, customer feedback, and site requirements.
Collaborate with Design Engineers, Production, Purchase, and Quality departments to ensure manufacturability and cost-effective execution.
Maintain drawing revision records and engineering documentation in accordance with company procedures.
Support preparation of installation drawings, technical manuals, and as-built documentation.
Follow industry best practices related to drafting quality, safety, and engineering documentation.
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong command of AutoCAD (mandatory).
Working knowledge of SolidWorks or any 3D CAD software will be an added advantage.
Sound understanding of GD&T, welding symbols, tolerances, machining requirements, and drafting standards.
Knowledge of fabrication processes, sheet-metal design, manufacturing drawings, and industrial equipment assemblies.
Ability to interpret engineering calculations, design notes, technical specifications, and customer requirements.
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality, error-free drawings.
Good communication and coordination skills for effective collaboration across departments.
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
