Role description:
Arcadis is seeking an Architectural Designer to join our Semiconductor team in Albany, New York. In this role, you will support the architectural team in developing design solutions for semiconductor, cleanroom, laboratory, data centers, and other advanced technology and manufacturing facilities. Working under the guidance of senior architects and project leaders, you will contribute to design production, drawing coordination, code research, and construction documentation across multiple project phases. This role is ideal for someone looking to grow their technical design skills in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
Experience in an A/E or EPCM consulting environment and exposure to industrial, advanced facilities, or technical building types is desirable, but not required.
Role accountabilities:
Support the development of architectural design and construction documents for semiconductor and advanced facilities projects.
Assist with design layouts, drawing production, detailing, and document coordination under the direction of senior architectural staff.
Apply practice-based graphical standards to drawing packages and contract documentation.
Conduct building code, zoning, and material research to support project development.
Assist in preparing presentations, reports, renderings, and other project deliverables.
Coordinate architectural scope with structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other engineering disciplines.
Support the team in the integration of building systems and technical project requirements.
Participate in multidisciplinary project meetings and help track design updates and action items.
Work on multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards.
Communicate effectively with internal team members and support collaboration across project teams.
Learn and develop proficiency in Arcadis standards, project workflows, and advanced facilities design requirements.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, or a related field preferred; candidates with relevant equivalent experience in architectural design or drafting will also be considered.
1–5 years of relevant experience, with level to be determined based on qualifications and experience.
Prior internship or professional experience in an architecture, engineering, or consulting environment is preferred.
Interest in or exposure to semiconductor, cleanroom, laboratory, industrial, manufacturing, or other advanced facilities projects is highly desirable.
Basic understanding of architectural design principles, construction documentation, and building systems coordination.
Familiarity with building codes and industry standards is preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational ability.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Willingness to learn from senior staff and contribute to a fast-paced, technically complex environment.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite, and other design/presentation software preferred. Familiarity with Enscape, Photoshop, and PowerPoint is a plus.
Ability to provide legal US work authorization documents required. Will consider US domestic travelers and relocation.
