Applications Engineer – Body Interior (Automotive)

Overview / Summary

The Applications Engineer – Body Interior will provide onsite product development support, focusing on improving quality and first-time-through performance. This role involves resolving engineering issues, performing root cause analysis, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support production and design improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Own and resolve engineering issues related to body interior systems (trim, instrument panel, seats, console, headliner, NVH components, carpet, etc.)
Provide on-site support to troubleshoot production issues and drive first-time-through improvements
Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions
Perform data analysis using Excel and other tools to identify trends and develop solutions
Support validation testing, issue tracking, and release activities
Collaborate with suppliers, design engineers, and manufacturing teams to ensure robust designs and high-quality builds
Support quality systems including DFMEA, PFMEA, and control plans

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
Strong analytical skills
