About YellowScan
YellowScan is a French deep-tech company that designs, develops, and manufactures integrated LiDAR solutions for UAV-based surveying applications. Our systems are trusted by professionals in surveying, civil engineering, forestry, mining, and environmental monitoring across more than 50 countries.
As we accelerate our growth in North America, we are looking for an Application Engineer to be the go-to technical expert for our US customers and partners. This is a hands-on, field-oriented role for someone who loves both the technology and the people using it.
Your mission
Provide technical support, training, field assistance, and integration expertise to YellowScan customers and partners across the US — ensuring they get the most out of their LiDAR systems from day one.
Key responsibilities
Customer support
Deliver Level 1 and Level 2 technical assistance: troubleshooting, diagnostics, and follow-up
Guide users through setup, configuration, and integration of YellowScan LiDAR systems
Document issues and coordinate with internal teams for corrective actions and improvements
Field demonstrations, training & commissioning
Conduct live UAV + LiDAR field demonstrations for prospects and customers
Deliver training sessions covering mission preparation, calibration, data acquisition, and point cloud processing
Support customers during onboarding and initial project deployments
Technical expertise
Develop deep knowledge of the full YellowScan ecosystem (hardware, software, workflows)
Advise customers on best practices for LiDAR surveying
Support integration of YellowScan systems with compatible drone platforms
Internal collaboration
Relay customer feedback and US market insights to R&D and Product teams
Contribute to technical documentation and support procedures
Assist the sales team during pre-sales interactions (technical presentations, feasibility checks)
Who you are
Technical background
Degree in geomatics, surveying, aerospace engineering, remote sensing, computer science, or a related field
Strong understanding of LiDAR acquisition workflows, GNSS/INS systems, and geospatial data processing
Experience with UAV operations in the field is a strong advantage
Familiarity with point cloud processing software (TerraScan or equivalent)
Ability to analyze 3D data and translate technical findings into actionable guidance
Experience
2–5 years in the geospatial, UAV, sensor, or technical support industry
Hands-on experience deploying technical solutions at customer sites is highly valued
Willingness to travel frequently across the US
Soft skills
Strong communication and teaching abilities — you can explain complex systems clearly
Customer-oriented and natural problem-solver
Autonomous, organized, and comfortable in an international work environment
Languages
Fluent English required — French is a plus
What we offer
Daily work with state-of-the-art aerial LiDAR technology
A high-impact, autonomous role in a fast-growing international company
A collaborative and multicultural team environment
Ongoing training and technical development opportunities
