Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Application Engineer role based in Greater Houston. The Application Engineer will provide technical guidance on PLEUGER products to customers and sales teams including sizing, selection, and configuration of pumps and related equipment. Daily responsibilities include analyzing customer specifications, preparing technical proposals, reviewing drawings and documentation, and supporting bid and tender processes. The role involves coordinating with engineering, manufacturing, and service teams to ensure solutions meet performance, quality, and regulatory requirements. The Application Engineer will also support field issues, troubleshoot application challenges, contribute to testing and validation activities, and provide product training and technical presentations as needed.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering and/or Electrical Engineering, with the ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and system diagrams.
Experience providing Technical Support for industrial equipment, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and customer-facing technical communication.
Exposure to Testing activities such as performance testing, system validation, and documentation of test results for industrial or engineered products.
Familiarity with Software Development or configuration of engineering/selection tools, simulation software, or PLC/automation systems is an advantage.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
Experience with pumps, rotating equipment, or flow control systems in industries such as water, energy, mining, or oil & gas is highly beneficial.
Proficient written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to work on-site in Greater Houston and occasionally visit customer or field locations as required.
