Position Overview
The Applications Engineer will be supporting the Quality Professional Services team for the design and implementation of major automation systems include extremely large commercial building automation, process automation, and factory automation systems. In your role, you will be involved in the integration of large and diverse types of commercial and industrial equipment and sensors, as well as customer databases and IT applications. You will be contributing to the organization and analysis of monitored data, and will be designing critical graphical dashboards, reports, alerts, and workflows based on such data to improve customer operations. Additionally, you will support the deployment of our tenant applications for workplace management.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborating directly with the customer on the design, implementation and delivery of solutions to meet/exceed the customers’ requirements. Taking full ownership of tasks required.
Play an active role in the project team and wider business teams supporting our culture.
Use your innovative and problem-solving skills to identify improvements and opportunities throughout each project.
Collaborate with colleagues in Sales and Software Development to achieve top outcomes.
Assist, consult, and implement projects for key customers.
Act as a trusted advisor, providing expert guidance on MEIDS software solutions.

Develop a strong understanding of industry concepts, practices, and procedures.

Required Skills & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
Experience:
1-5 years’ experience with Automation Software deployment (BMS or BAS or SCADA or DCS system experience)
Experience with on prem, cloud, and hybrid solutions with digital transformation initiatives
Proficiency in web-based configuration
Ability to read and understand building plans
Highly organized and detailed oriented
Technical Skills:
General understanding of industrial/building automation, software solutions, and system integration.
Very experienced with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Word, and Teams
Experience with Operating Systems
Experience with computer, industrial networking, and IoT protocols such as OPC, BACnet, Modbus, SNMP, MQTT, and Web Services
Experience in SQL Server database design, queries, stored procedures etc.
Collaboration & Communication:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to collaborate with local and remote team members
Other:
Strategic thinker with a focus on customer success.
Comfortable with customer facing activities
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of industrial/building automation industries
Artistic skills, UX design, and web design a plus
Experience with on prem, cloud, and hybrid solutions with digital transformation solutions
Programming ability using programing languages such as VBA, C#, Python, etc.
Knowledge of Azure infrastructure and components.
Familiarity with MEIDS or similar platforms is a plus
Location & Travel
Position is based in Washington, DC
Initial training will be based in Foxboro, Massachusetts
Once CAC qualifications are met, work will be performed on-site, 8 working hours per day, Monday through Friday
The post initial work period (up to 1 year) may require 5-15% travel and may include international and weekend travel
