The Customer Integration Applications Engineer’s (AE) primary responsibility is to convert released materials and defined process windows into successful customer integrations under real use conditions. The AE operates post-product release and is responsible for applying, tuning, and troubleshooting material performance within customer processes.
The AE is responsible for supporting active customer opportunities, driving process adoption, and resolving technical challenges that impact implementation. All work will be tied to defined customer programs, applications, or business opportunities.
The AE operates within defined formulation and process constraints. The formulation and process windows are pre-determined by our process development team. The AE may tune and extend conditions within this window for specific use cases but does not need to redefine it. Any limitations or gaps must be documented with structured data and escalated to process development team or formulation team for action.
The AE collaborates with business development, sales, and process development to ensure technical work supports adoption and revenue generation across applications including microelectronics, advanced packaging, microfluidics, and MEMS.


Core responsibilities:
· Apply and tune material process conditions within defined process windows to support customer integration
· Support customer implementation into device or process flows under real operating conditions
· Troubleshoot process failures and identify root causes tied to material and process interaction
· Present product capabilities, tradeoffs, and limitations clearly to customers and internal teams
· Generate structured technical documentation of findings and translate into application notes and usable collateral
· Respond to customer process inquiries and provide timely, actionable recommendations
· Support business development and sales on active opportunities by validating technical feasibility
· Document all process adjustments, extensions, and outcomes under customer conditions
· Identify when customer requirements exceed defined process windows and document conditions, failure modes, and boundaries
· Escalate validated gaps with structured data, defined conditions, and recommended next steps to process development or formulation teams
· Travel as required to support customer integration and technical discussions
· Must follow all company policies and procedures


Qualifications required:
· College degree: BS or higher preferred in engineering, materials science, or chemistry discipline
· Ability to translate material behavior into customer process impact and actionable recommendations
· Ability to design and execute DOE tied to failure modes and process outcomes
· Experience working in a lab and/or clean room
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Strong problem-solving skills
· Ability to manage multiple customer-driven priorities with defined timelines
· Customer support travel is expected; 15-25%, varying by need.
· Role is onsite in Westborough, MA
·Salary range is $80,000 to $95,000


Qualifications desired:
· Advanced degree in engineering, materials science, or chemistry discipline
· Experience with applied coatings
· Experience with microelectronics fab processes
· Working knowledge of statistics and process control
· Experience generating application notes or customer-facing technical documentation
