Application Engineer

Our customer a global manufacturing leader based in Grand Rapids, Michigan is seeking an onsite Application Engineer to join their growing team!

What you'll get to do:
Translate customer needs and requirements into technical specifications and design inputs.
Provide technical input and oversight of activities of the Product Engineers
Work directly with customers to define all product application requirements necessary to gain product approval for production
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure final submissions accurately include all tooling and equipment
Ensure product design meets product cost and overall capital budget parameters and is summarized for the project leads
Ensure test and analysis validates the design, meets requirements and is approved for production
Solve technical issues associated with customer and product demands
Work directly with Advance Quality Engineer (AQE) to ensure quality planning meets customer documentation needs
Support creation and maintenance of APQP documentation, including DFMEA and DVP&R

What you'll need:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (BSME, BSMET or equivalent)
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Applications Engineering, Product Engineering or Design Engineering
Strong knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning Tolerancing)
Experience in a manufacturing environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, 3D CAD, and ERP system
Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
