Merritt Island, Florida | Aerospace & Defense Manufacturing
Are you the type of engineer who enjoys solving technical challenges, working directly with customers, and helping turn complex requirements into real-world manufactured products?
Our client is a growing aerospace and defense manufacturer located in the heart of Florida's Space Coast, just minutes from Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral.
They are seeking an Applications Engineer who can bridge the gap between customers, engineering, and manufacturing to help bring highly engineered products from concept through production.
This is an ideal opportunity for a mechanical, manufacturing, project, aerospace, or applications engineer who enjoys both technical problem-solving and customer interaction.
What You'll Do
Evaluate customer requirements and determine manufacturing feasibility.
Develop technical proposals, cost estimates, manufacturing approaches, and project timelines.
Work directly with customers to understand technical requirements and recommend solutions.
Partner with manufacturing teams to ensure designs can be successfully produced.
Lead qualification and validation activities, including test planning, fixture development, execution, and reporting.
Support project kickoffs, customer revisions, and ongoing technical communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Serve as the technical liaison between customers and internal engineering and manufacturing teams.
Participate in hands-on assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and engineering field work as needed.
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
3+ years of engineering experience in aerospace, defense, precision manufacturing, industrial equipment, or related industries.
Ability to review technical drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
Experience supporting manufacturing, product development, testing, qualification, or project execution activities.
Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with customers and cross-functional teams.
Comfortable working in both office and manufacturing environments.
Highly Desired Experience
Aerospace or defense manufacturing.
Precision machining or complex mechanical assemblies.
Qualification testing and validation.
GD&T and engineering drawings.
DFMA and manufacturability reviews.
Cost estimating or proposal development.
Customer-facing engineering experience.
Why This Opportunity?
Work on highly engineered aerospace and defense products.
Be part of a collaborative team where engineering has direct influence on project success.
Gain exposure to customers, manufacturing, testing, and product development.
Located on Florida's Space Coast near beaches, boating, fishing, Kennedy Space Center, and a thriving aerospace community.
Opportunity to make a visible impact in a growing organization.
