We are seeking an Applications Engineer with a background in industrial automation or custom machinery to support the development of technical concepts and proposals for automated manufacturing systems.

This role sits at the intersection of sales and engineering, helping evaluate customer requirements and develop automation solutions for production equipment and manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities
• Review customer RFQs, drawings, and specifications to understand system requirements and project scope
• Develop conceptual automation solutions for manufacturing systems and production equipment
• Create preliminary system concepts involving robotics, conveyors, material handling, and assembly system
• Collaborate with mechanical and controls engineers to validate system concepts and technical feasibility
• Prepare cost estimates for equipment, controls, fabrication, and integration labor
• Coordinate with vendors to gather pricing and technical information for purchased components
• Develop technical proposals outlining system functionality, scope of supply, and key project assumptions

Qualifications
• 4+ years of experience in applications engineering, industrial automation, machine building, or automated manufacturing systems
• Background working with custom machinery, industrial automation, or capital equipment
• Experience developing automation concepts, system layouts, or technical quotations
• Experience supporting RFQs, RFPs, or technical proposal development
• Strong understanding of robotics, PLC-based control systems, and automated production equipment
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar design tools
• Ability to clearly document and communicate technical solutions in proposal format
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical field.

Preferred
• Experience with industrial robotics (Fanuc or similar platforms)
• Background in assembly automation, vision inspection, or material handling systems
• Experience working in a custom machine builder or system integration environment
