Role Description This is a full-time Application Engineer role based in Provo, UT, offered in a hybrid work model with some work-from-home flexibility. The Application Engineer will work closely with customers and internal teams to understand motion control requirements, propose solutions using Akribis motors and stages, and support system integration. Day-to-day responsibilities include providing technical support, configuring and testing motion systems, troubleshooting performance issues, and preparing technical documentation such as application notes and system specifications. The role will collaborate with engineering and sales to conduct product demonstrations, assist with proof-of-concept builds, and optimize system performance for customer applications. The Application Engineer will also contribute feedback to product development teams based on customer use cases and field observations.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering to analyze motion system requirements and support integration.
Experience in Technical Support, including diagnosing issues, guiding customers through solutions, and documenting best practices.
Hands-on experience with Testing of motion systems or related electromechanical equipment, including setup, calibration, and performance verification.
Exposure to Software Development for motion control, automation, or embedded systems is beneficial (e.g., scripting, basic programming, or motion controller configuration).
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related field) or equivalent practical experience.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and schematics; familiarity with encoders, amplifiers, and motion controllers is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and supporting global customers.
