A growing industrial manufacturing organization is seeking an Application Engineer I to support customer-facing engineering projects across a range of engineered product solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent or early‑career engineer looking to gain hands-on experience, technical mentorship, and exposure to real-world industrial applications.

This role is onsite with one day a week remote and offers strong development potential within a collaborative Sales and Engineering environment.

The Opportunity
Application Engineers serve as a technical link between customers, Sales, and internal Engineering and Operations teams. This role supports projects from early application review through execution, applying engineering fundamentals—particularly thermodynamics—to practical product solutions.
The position is well-suited for engineers who enjoy solving real customer problems, working cross-functionally, and growing into increased technical and customer responsibility over time.

Key Responsibilities
Support customer-facing application projects from concept through execution
Apply engineering fundamentals to evaluate requirements and support solution development
Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Operations teams
Assist with application reviews, technical documentation, and project coordination
Support lab testing, test setup, and validation activities
Review specifications, drawings, and customer requirements
Participate in occasional customer site visits
Learn and support project execution best practices in an industrial environment

Qualifications – Application Engineer I
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or a related Engineering discipline
1-2 Years of experience
Internship or co-op experience involving industrial or thermodynamics-based products preferred
Exposure to project management concepts through coursework or internships
Technical Skills
SolidWorks (3D modeling)
Basic familiarity with 2D drafting tools
Fundamental understanding of:
Industrial controls
Electrical schematics (PLCs, controllers, drives, HMIs)
Basic test equipment and lab environments

Skills & Competencies
Professional communication style with customers and internal teams
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Mechanically inclined with solid analytical abilities
Comfortable assisting with mechanical assemblies and testing activities
Strong Excel skills
Effective problem solver with sound judgment
Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Eager learner with strong initiative and work ethic

Compensation
$70,000 – $85,000, depending on experience and time out of school
