Agentic Engineer – AI x Web3 Infrastructure 📍 San Francisco, CA | Full-Time | On-Site
The Opportunity
We are working with a well-funded, early-stage infrastructure company which is hiring a dedicated Agentic Engineer. This is a rare greenfield role sitting at the intersection of LLM orchestration, distributed systems, and next-generation transaction infrastructure. It's the kind of position where your architectural decisions will define how autonomous agents interact with the world at scale.
You won't be building demos. You'll be building the production layer that lets AI agents coordinate, transact, and operate autonomously within a principled governance framework.
What You'll Be Working On
Designing and building the orchestration frameworks that power AI agent interactions with identity and payment infrastructure
Defining standards for agent-to-agent and agent-to-human communication across programmatic and CLI/TUI interfaces
Implementing programmable governance logic: the rules that keep autonomous agents safe, auditable, and accountable
Working directly with design partners to architect real-world autonomous agent workflows end-to-end
What We're Looking For
Hands-on experience with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar) and orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, custom agentic loops, or equivalent
Strong engineering fundamentals in Python, Go, or Rust
Protocol design experience regarding the way distributed or multi-agent systems communicate and coordinate
Prior exposure to autonomous or semi-autonomous systems: trading bots, automated pipelines, workflow engines, or similar
Compensation
💰 Base salary: $180,000 – $220,000 + meaningful equity + benefits (Range reflects current SF market for senior IC roles in AI infrastructure; exact positioning depends on experience)
Why This Role
This company is building critical infrastructure for the agentic internet: the layer that most teams are assuming will exist but nobody has properly solved. Small team, serious technical bar, and real traction with design partners already in production.
If you've been thinking about where AI and decentralized systems converge and want to own that problem technically, please send your up-to-date CV.
