Design products that stand up to the elements—and delight customers
At Anchor Industries, your engineering will be felt in backyards, campuses, and public spaces where shade, structure, and safety matter. Imagine starting your morning refining a pergola model to meet ASCE 7-22 wind loads, then generating MPanel cutting patterns for a custom shade, and wrapping the day by aligning part routings with Production—always with IBC 2024 and NFPA 701 in view.
Your impact
Translate requirements into production-ready 3D smart models and detailed drawings in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
Produce accurate cutting patterns for complex products via AutoCAD, MPanel, and related applications.
Collaborate across Sales, Production, Manufacturing Engineering, and Purchasing to ensure efficient, scalable manufacturing.
Maintain clean data: part numbers, descriptions, and manufacturing routings for parts and assemblies.
Embed code compliance in every deliverable: IBC 2024, ASCE 7-22, NFPA 701, and related standards.
Advance design-for-manufacturing and Lean Manufacturing principles to reduce waste and increase throughput.
Source and vet new materials in partnership with Purchasing.
Develop, research, and update product specifications informed by customer needs, site visits, and blueprint reviews.
Lead and coordinate projects with external vendors, engineers, customers, and sales reps to keep schedules on course.
Manage tasks proactively to meet departmental and company objectives; step in outside regular hours when needed.
What you bring
BS in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering.
Up to 5 years of relevant experience; strong entry-level candidates welcome.
Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD (or equivalent CAD platforms).
Exceptional Excel and spreadsheet analysis capability.
Ability to interpret policies, technical documents, and regulations; skilled in writing reports and business correspondence; adept at building rapport with stakeholders.
Drive, curiosity, and disciplined time management to juggle diverse priorities and deadlines.
Where and how you’ll work
Primarily office-based with regular time in production and occasional fieldwork.
Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.; frequent walking, bending, kneeling, and similar activities as needed.
Comfortable working in production areas and outdoors across varying weather conditions.
Team and reporting
Reports to the Design Engineering Manager.
Interfaces with colleagues at every level of Anchor Industries to move products from concept to delivery.
