Micron Technology has announced plans to hire 3,000 engineers at its Gujarat ATMP (Assembly, Test, Marking, and Packaging) facility as the plant enters Phase 2 construction. The hiring will take place over the next 18 months, with the first batch of 500 engineers expected to join by Q3 2026.
Roles Being Hired
The 3,000 positions span across multiple disciplines:
- Process engineers (800): Managing advanced packaging processes including fan-out wafer-level packaging and 3D stacking.
- Equipment engineers (600): Operating and maintaining the facility's capital equipment, primarily from Applied Materials and KLA.
- Test engineers (500): Developing and running wafer-level and package-level test programs.
- Quality engineers (300): Ensuring products meet automotive (AEC-Q100) and consumer reliability standards.
- Design engineers (400): Working on memory controller IPs and test chip development.
- Operations and support (400): Facilities, IT, supply chain, and HR roles supporting the engineering teams.
Compensation and Benefits
Micron is offering competitive packages to attract talent to the Gujarat location. Entry-level process engineering roles start at ₹12-15 LPA, with experienced engineers commanding ₹25-45 LPA. The company is also offering relocation assistance, on-campus housing for the first year, and stock grants.
